Well, this is the year that I said I was going to make it all happen. And, what do you know, it seemed as though the instant those words left my mouth, things started to shift. I was working a job that I wasn't sure would be there in a week, due to the crumbling economy, my hours were getting cut, and I was already broke. I graduated from Oregon College of Art and Craft in 2007 with a Post Baccalaureate in Ceramics, and I hadn't had access to a clay studio since. Then, when I got my tax return, I bought my first kiln. Maybe that was the catalyst that started it all. I started playing with mud again, and I felt so much better. Then, just a month later and out of the blue, my friend got me a job at Oregon Health Science University. I now have a job that is stable, pays substantially more money, and my commute was cut in half. I have more time to play, and I'm not giving myself ulcers waiting for the axe at work. Then I started my Etsy shop, Robodome, and I've been selling quite a bit of my clay critters! Things couldn't be better. So, all in all, I'll say it again. This is the year that I'm gonna make it all happen. Happy 2010!
